The Lounge

Lisa Vanderpump, of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, celebrated the opening of her new creation with her partners, SUR Lounge in 2011, in West Hollywood.

When the premises next door to SUR became available, with its intimate tree-lined garden and incredible structural design, Lisa knew she could create something unique. The development and design of the new space plays out on Lisa’s show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 2.

Continuing the sensual, dark, exotic vibe present at SUR Restaurant next door, Sur Lounge is an eclectic blend of coarse, industrial pieces and romantic, whimsical charm. The décor pulls together old railway sleepers and graphic modern glass tiles; miniature velvet stools and chandeliers enclosed in cages; French pillows and long, antique leather Chesterfields. Lisa states that this dichotomy is “a complete unpredictable collection of things that [she] loves” and that with “the garden and the height of the vaulted ceilings; the basic architecture was a gift” allowing her to create a “niche in design that will make a statement in West Hollywood.”

The ambiance will showcase Guillermo’s incredible selection of European music that has become so essential to the current atmosphere at SUR restaurant.

Designer

“As you will see it play out on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, who were following my story, it was a stroke of luck when the premises next door to SUR became vacant, I knew immediately that I could create something unique, sexy and had huge potential just by the fact that it had a garden, the height of the vaulted ceilings, the basic architecture was a gift.

I wanted to follow the vibe of my existing restaurant that has always been so well received but carve out a niche in design that would make a statement in West Hollywood. Creating different spaces has been something over the years I have grown to love, we have had many, many restaurants over the years.

I mixed old railway sleepers with graphic modern glass tiles, I gathered an eclectic mix of artifacts, designed our little velvet stools and combined them with industrial zinc tables. I threw a mix of French pillows, chandeliers in cages, long leather chesterfields…installed different antique doors… A complete unpredictable collection of things that I loved.

I pulled it all together to create SUR LOUNGE…”
